Happy New Year, everybody! Can you believe it's already 2007? Well it's great to finally be done with the old and transition into the new year. I have very high hopes and big plans for this year, as the previous year for me was pretty troubling. And so, I wish you all a great year too. This is the 7th year of this millenium, and as you know the "number 7" is considered a lucky number. Therefore, I wish that this year becomes lucky for everyone. May the luck be on your side! Can you believe it ? After 2.5 years I have decided to restore my original website "Leshka.net"! Unfortunately, some Brazilian prick stole my old domain name "Leshka.net", so I registered "Leshka.us" which is just as good if you ask me =) So now you will be able to access my site anytime by going to: www.Leshka.us
I've not only restored the site at the new server and the new domain, I have also updated some outdated info and streamlined the website design. It should now load faster, look better and work smoother. It might seem like the same ol' design, but behind it are 30 hours of re-coding and rebuilding of the source code to make it more solid and error-proof.
I am very excited to put up the site again after such a long time. Now I'm running the site on my own dedicated server with 200GB of storage space and 2G of traffic bandwidth. I can run all sorts of scripts and scripting languages on here, as well as databases. I've got my personal email server running too, feel free to email me anytime: leshka@leshka.us. Of course thanks to those who have helped me with hosting in the past, but it was time for me to have my own setup.
What about my life, you ask? A lot has changed since the last update. Quite a bit of stuff happened. Many things have changed with me, and many things have changed with you. As far as it goes for me, I don't even know where to start - some good, some bad. I guess just like in everyone else's life. Nonetheless, I'm still alive and well and that's what matters. I hope you all are doing fine too. I sure am very glad to see you on my site again, like in good ol' times ~ Leshka [Alex] ;-)

A major update in terms of site development. I finally have transferred my site from the Comcast.net server over to a fast and large server. A big "Thank You" goes out to Alex from Goyk.com for sharing his server with me. This means I'll finally be able to host my own pictures and files, as well as setup some more complex sripts in ASP, PHP, etc. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the site let me know!

Well what can I say, this weekend was pretty alright. The highlight of which was of course Friday the 13th }:-) that was Zhorik's and Eddie's Double Birthday Party @ L'Ermitage restaurant. I'm finally back in action after my nasty sickness, that lasted over 3 weeks and resulted in me going to the hospital Emergency Room, because of the intense pain. It turned out that I had what's called sinusitis, a bacterial infection of the sinuses that can cause some seriously fucked up headaches. Great thanks to all those who cared enough to visit, call or message me while I was sick, you know who you are ;)
On a positive note, Sasha Chapligin's Birthday at Zhivago turned out pretty good. Happy Bday to u again Sashka, now u're finally 21! Luckily, I didn't have to drive either way, so I could relax and drink away! Heheh... Check out the photos.

On the Thanksgiving of last year (Nov. 27th) we had an addition to our family. Little cat Vas'ka joined our la familia ;) He was two months old at the time when I got him from Angie's Mom's best friend/neighbor. Now he's about 3.5 months, he's "rizhiy" (red) and his partial breed is Turkish Angol. Anyways check out the pics ;)

Happy New 2004 Year! No doubt, the last year was not without problems. It was a year that took away lives of several of my friends. It was a year that taught me a lot about life, the hard way. It was a year that had hurt me both inside and outside, but at the end it made me stronger. So, here's a toast to have a better year in 2004!

"Welcome to Atlanta, where the playas play!" Unfortunately, my computer was down for a long period of time, therefore I wasn't able to update the site. But I do have a couple of updates for you. First of all, last weekend me and bunch of my buddies went over to Atlanta, Georgia to celebrate my friend Aram's and Vika's Wedding! I was over there for 3 days, but it was enough time for me to get the "feel" of the city and have sum phun ;) ! Congratulations to Aram & Vika - I wish you guys all the best!
The trip was of tha hook. I loved the city, the weather was wonderful, and the people were great! If u wanna get an overall idea of Atlanta, picture this: 60+ degree weather in the winter, beatiful hills and raised-curvy roads (not all flat like in Chicago), wonderful plantlife, amazing downtown, 5-to-1 female to male ratio, and most of all the crazy nightlife! I would never think that I would have to write another tragic update. I don't know how to say this, but... Well the doctors weren't able to save Angie. She was fighting hard, but the damage to the brain was too much, even though all her other organs were fine, except for the lungs, Angie died on November 25th, 2003 after the doctors disconnected the life support machines.
Some people say that she died right there in the accident and there was no chance for her at the hospital; but I believe that if they let Angie stay on life support for another week or two, she would recover. But I can't blame anyone for it and I never will.
I've never lost anyone who was as close to me before. Angie you were my very dear friend, whom I've known for over 3 years and grown to love, respect and care for like my own sister. You were so young - only 19 years old, so pretty and full of dreams to conquer. I'll never forget you for as long as I live. And, I know, we will meet again - in this world by your parents resurrecting you in another body, like your Dad said, or in another world far in the sky, either way I will see you again! I believe in it...

P.S. I came came to think that we can save lives of others. You might not know it, but you might have saved someones life in the past - by not letting your friend do something stupid, by not letting him or her drive drunk, drive fast, by not letting them do something to themselves. You might have to save someone's life tommorow too! Please, look after your friends and family!

Yesterday, a very tragic accident has happened. A group of four of my friends got into a car crash. Two of them, Zhenya and Edik, survived with minor injuries. While my friend Angie recieved serious head trauma, she's still in a coma. And my other friend, Denis (known as "Lisiy") passed away on the spot. Denis, you'll always be in our hearts. Although, I wasn't as close to you as some of your other friends, I always considered you a good guy, fun to be around and drink with. Too bad you only got to live a quarter of your life. May you get to heaven and rest well in peace. Angie, hang in there - you're a strong girl and I know you'll make it. It'll just take some time.

Happy Sweetest Day to all the ladies! But especially to the one that I took to the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Chicago today ;) It's a very nice and unusual place to eat. The restaurant inside looks like a jungle with animals, insects, aquariums and even real waterfalls with rainbows over them. Look at the photos to see what I mean.

This weekend was a blast - first on Friday we went to a party in downtown Chicago at one of the DePaul dorms, then on Saturday we went to Stas' 20th Birthday at L'Ermitage which was off the hook, later on Sunday we went to Six Flags Great America - LaSalle Bank's Private Event which was great except that it got kind of cold later on at night. Overall it was a bad ass weeked! ;]

On Saturday, merely a day-and-a-half ago, we celebrated Inna's 17th Birthday at the Lake. We had a pretty nice evening picnic with about 15 - 20 people. Unfortunately for some (and fortunately for others) there was more alcohol than food at the picnic, so some people took advantage of that. You know who you are! ;)

Now that Summer's finally here, I've started to really employ and enjoy all the abilities of my car. Here are a few things that I've done in the past few weeks: Shaumburg Car Meet and Racing on Doty road in Chicago on Saturday, June 7th. Also, we finally went down to Great Lakes Dragaway racetrack, on Thursday, June 19th, and watched the Real Street Drag event, where FAST cars race for BIG money!

Yesterday on Tuesday, May 13th, me and Jeff went over to the annual All Candy Expo 2003, which was over at the McCormick place. I ate sooo much candy, I couldn't even look at it anymore! Since bags weren't allowed at the show, we left with about $50 worth of candy in our pockets ;)

Last Monday, May 5th, I went down to Chicago and I took some pics while Cruising down Lake Shore Drive and other parts of Downtown. Friday, May 9th was a pretty fun day. First we went to the Glencoe Beach by Lake Michigan, where I went to take a swim at the lake for first time this year (almost completely freezing my nuts off!) Then, we went to see The Pianist at the movie theater in downtown of Highland Park.

I've been kinda lazy for the past couple of days, so that's why I haven't been updating my site =) Friday May 2nd, I went to a strip club that my buddy owns, it's called Russian-American Club and it's a member only strip club. Unfortunately, because it was a private club I couldn't take much pics, because it wasn't allowed, but I still took a few ;). Of course, all the drinks there were "on the house" and we also got treated to a plate of shrimps. After everyone got wasted we were just sitting down at one table with the owners and the strippers and having a nice conversation about everything ;-)

Since the weather was still great, on Monday (April 28th) we went to check out this one forest preserve/landmark place in Long Grove. It's called the Reed-Turner Woodland. It's a nice place to have som shashliki and get wasted ;) Yesterday on Thursday, we went to The Prime Minister and then we went to Cafe Amante. It wasn't that much fun because we got out of the house at about 1am thanks to some people, I wont mention any names, but they know who they are! :)

This was a very fun weekend! Thursday, some of my friends and I went to Prime Minister. Friday we went to the Carnival by BG, and a new entertainment place Escape, then we went to car racings in Chicago.
Saturday after Paul's B-Day party, we drove to Lamirage Bar and met the Cook County Sheriff, who bought us drinks all night, and later let us take pics by his unmarked car, with his badge and gun!
Sunday we threw a huge Picnic by Lake Michigan, in Wilmette right across from Bahai Temple. It was fun, we were about 30 people deep. First we drank and ate, and then played soccer and took pictures ;)

Happy April Fools! =) Today the weather was very nice, reaching about 60 degrees, so I decided to go to the Chicago Botanic Garden. It was my first visit ever and it turned out to be great. Although, it's still a little early in the season, most of the plants are not blooming yet and some of the exhibitions aren't ready. I'll definitely go again there a little later. Check out the pics.

Unfortunately, today is the last day of the Spring Break :( Tommorow, I have to go back to college. But nonetheless, I went to the Bass-Beats-Melody event @ Studio 21 in Aurora, which was fun. Brooklyn Bounce DJs from Germany came over there to spin. Also, I went to Lyonya's 20th Birthday Party, although by the time I got t here it was almost over. Took some pretty nice pictures though ;)

Monday, the 24th we went to a new place: Rocky-Vander's Cafe & Bar, located right in front of Denny's on Palatine and Milwaukee. Actually me and a friend "discovered" it the day before ;) Great place, nice atmosphere and good food. Check out the pics!

I uploaded the pics from the Integra Meet by UNO's Pizza in Woodfield, that we arranged with my buddies from Team-Integra.net on Saturday, March 22nd. The meet turned out alright, with about fifteen Gen3 cars, one Gen2 and one Gen1 plus a few Civics pulled up too. Although, the weather wasn't that great it was still kinda fun. Afterwards, we all went inside UNO's to eat and talk about our beautiful cars =)

I've finally put up the photos from the Saint Mary of the Lake Seminary. It's a very beautiful place, located in Mundelien. It seems to be isolated from the industrialized world, sort of giving you a chance to go back in time to 19th century. Especially, when the weather is good the nature there seems to come alive. I highly recommend visiting that place.
Also, a pretty big update in terms of site design. I've changed the Main page and the Links page to incorporate the inside frame. I think it looks better and makes working with the pages easier.

Added new pics from the 2003 Chicagoland Family Pet Show. The show turned out to be very good. I expected to see only usual pets, like cats and dogs, but there were many other animals including: snakes, parrots, mice, rabbits, racoons, fish, alpacas, kenguroos, hedgehogs, crocodiles, etc. It was like a zoo where you could touch and hold the animals, which was pretty cool =)

Got new pics up from "Восьмое Марта" - March 8th, International Women's Day. First we went to Dima's party in Wheeling, then we stopped by Illusion Cafe, and after that we 'crashed' at Remi's party in Glenview. It was a very pleasant evening overall. Although, my morning, day and evening were kind of combined, due to me waking up at around 5:00pm :-) hehe. I was off duty today and Vlad V. was taking the pics with his recently acquired HP PhotoSmart C812 digital camera.
